Virgil Abloh, the late creative director of Louis Vuitton and creator of Off-White, collaborated with Mercedes Benz on ‘Project Maybach’ alongside Mercedes’ Chief Designer Gorden Wagener.
The project, which resulted in a rally-car inspired Maybach and also the follow-up to the iconic G-Wagon, was highly praised for its disruptive coming together of Luxury and Utility. “It brings design and exploration to new heights and is made futureproof with solar panels on the hood,” Mercedes said at the time of its release in April this year.
The German Luxury automaker released a short film capturing the behind-the-scenes of the rare collaboration and paid tribute to Virgil Abloh’s work in arts and design.
