After delaying his first full-length album in 4 years, the Atlanta-based record producer Metro Boomin has revealed more details about his upcoming LP ‘Heroes & Villains’.
While Boomin – considered as one of Hip-Hop’s finest record producers – had announced a December 2nd, 2022 release date for his highly anticipated LP, he was seen working with La Flame a.k.a. Travis Scott at his studio. Fans could hear Future alongside Scott over the rough instrumental confirming that the two emcees will be featured on the album.
The preview ended with Metro revealing that the “Heroes & Villains” LP is part of a larger three-album project and will serve as the follow-up to his 2018 album “Not All Heroes Wear Capes” – the first of the now-confirmed three-part series. “When the sequel is even better than the first,” Boomin wrote on Twitter.
The St. Louis rapper and producer – real name Leland Tyler Wayne – announced the release of the album in September this year. The album is dedicated to his mother who was reportedly shot by her husband in June.
Metro Boomin is one of the biggest hip/hop producers globally. The young producer is behind some of the leading Atlanta Strip Club sounds with Future.
However, his discography has expanded to new levels in the last few years and includes massive hip-hop records such as ‘Mask Off’ w/ Future, ‘Bad n Boujee’ w/ Migos, ‘Congratulations’ w/ Post Malone and more.
The first instalment in the now confirmed trilogy ‘Not All Heroes Wear Capes’ was a twenty-six-track two-disc project which featured guest appearances by Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Swae Lee, Young Slime Life’s Gunna & Young Thug, Wizkid, J Balvin, Offset, Kodak Black and Drake on Disc 1 alongside an instrumental disc 2. The album was released on November 6th 2018.
