In February this year, Dr Dre’s iconic debut LP ‘The Chronic’ was released on leading streaming platforms. Notably, ‘The Chronic’ became the first Death Row Record to release on streaming platforms after it was taken off streaming platforms in March last year.

Released through Death Row Records on December 15th 1992, the LP consists of G-Funk classics including ‘Nothin’ But A “G” Thang’ featuring Snoop Dogg, ‘Deeez Nuuuts’, ‘Stranded on Death Row’, ‘Lil Ghetto Boy’ and more.

Now, the entire catalogue of Death Row Records is “back on streaming platforms everywhere”. While Snoop Dogg confirmed that taking the Death Row catalogue off such platforms was one of his earliest decisions after he acquired the label since such “platforms don’t pay”. The decision seems to change.

Perhaps, Dogg is retracting his statements made at the time. “I am thrilled to bring The Chronic home to its original distribution partner, Interscope Records. Working alongside my longtime colleagues, Steve Berman and John Janick, to re-release the album and make it available to fans all over the world is a full circle moment for me,” Dr Dre. said about ‘The Chronic’ release on streaming platforms.

Founded in 1991 by the legendary The D.O.C., Dr. Dre, Suge Knight and Dick Griffey, Death Row Records is home to some of the greatest rap records of all time including ‘All Eyez on Me’ and ‘The Don Killuminati: The Seven Day Theory’ by Tupac Shakur a.k.a. 2 Pac, ‘Doggystyle’ and ‘The Doggfather’ by Snoop Dogg, ‘G-Funk Classics: Vol. 1’ by Nate Dogg and ‘Against The Grain’ by Kurupt.
