Punjabi gangsta rap pioneer Gurinder Gill, oftentimes referred to as GG, has finally premiered the first set of visuals from his debut studio album “Hard Choices”. Titled “Wake Up”, the hard-hitting visual treatment captures GG’s provocative times at the gym as he “bench presses 250 lbs”.
Notably, “Wake Up” is the lead single from the “Hard Choices” album too and portrays GG’s abrupt transformation after he reportedly battled with opium abuse and emerged tall from it. The young rap pioneer’s records have often glorified substance abuse and being “under the influence”.
However, the “Hard Choices” album, and the affecting record “Wake Up” in specific, is in stark contrast to GG’s previous bodies of work including “Don’t Test”, “Most Wanted”, “Faraar” and more.
GG’s debut rap record “Hard Choices” traverses 7 hard-hitting Punjabi rap records – “Wake Up”, “Network”, “Breathe”, “4 Bakyian”, “Forever”, the aptly titled “Lonestar” and “Moments”. With production from GMINXR & Money Musik, the record captures GG’s far-reaching influence on global Punjabi rap and elevates his stature as one of the leading voices from the “Brown Boys” club.
