Chicago’s marquee rapper and songwriter Lil Durk, born Durk Derrick Bank, has just released his new single “Old Days”. The hard-hitting rap single, which arrives amidst high anticipation for Durk’s rumoured collaboration with Karan Aujla, marks the rapper’s first solo rap record this year.
Produced by Atlanta’s iconic Hip-Hop superproducer Southside and Smatt, the single captures Durk reminiscing about his life in Chicago and talks about numerous incidents of police brutality, unfair trials against the African-American youth and his struggles with drug abuse before rising to global prominence.
“Old Days” arrives within days after Durk was honoured by the Recordings Academy for “Best Melodic Rap Performance” this year.
Reportedly, the “Mad Max” emcee won his first Grammy for “All My Life” featuring J. Cole. Durk was further featured on Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign‘s historic rap album “Vultures” this year too.
Most recently, Durk joined forces with Atlanta’s top-tier rapper 21 Savage.
As reported earlier, Durk & Savage linked up on Metro Boomin-produced “dangerous” on “american dream” LP.
