Indian Hip-Hop superstars Badshah and Karan Aujla’s debut collaborative effort ‘Players’ has made its way into Spotify’s Top Songs India Chart. Peaking at 15th position, the record joins some of the influential releases in Indian rap music this year including ‘Basti Ka Hasti’ by MC Stan, ‘Baazigar’ by Divine f/ Armani White and ‘295’ by the late Sidhu Moosewala.
‘Players’ serves as the second lead single from Badshah’s highly anticipated EP ‘3:00 AM Sessions’. The marquee emcee and record producer released ‘Bas Ke Bahar’ yesterday at 3:00 A.M. Other records on the EP include ‘Ichiban’, ‘Too Many Hearts’ and ‘Ya Nahi?’ featuring Payal Dev.
The massive collaborative effort was first teased earlier this month when India’s iconic Hip-Hop record label Def Jam Recordings India shared an Instagram story with the two artist’s photographs in it. Given Def Jam India’s consistent releases with some of the biggest Hip-Hop acts in India including Dino James, Ikka, Wazir Patar, Badshah and more, a possibility that a collaborative effort between two of the most influential emcees is in the works was immediately speculated by fans across the world.
