Drake Loses $1 Million Over FIFA Bet

Hip-Hop’s global superstar Drake a.k.a. Champagne Papi lost $1 million over his bet on Argentina’s win during the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022 finals. The legendary ‘Started From the Bottom emcee has placed a million dollars in favour of  Argentina’s win at the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022. With a betting margin of 2.75 times the money invested, Drake was on his way to making upwards of 2.7 million dollars.

However, even though Argentina won the FIFA world cup last night, the extra time isn’t counted in the Stake bet and the result is determined on the basis of Argentina winning the world cup titled within 90 minutes of the match.

While for many, such a heavy loss might be distasteful, it’s just another ‘Rich Flex’ for the OVO bossman. Reportedly, Drake is worth well-over $250 million and has wide-ranging investments in music, fashion and even jewellery.

Earlier this month, the ‘Worst Behaviour’ rapper purchased an 18 Karat Gold neckpiece.

Designed by New York-based jeweller Alex Moss, the 18 Karat white gold necklace is studded with at least 42 diamonds and looks more like a collectable than a piece of ice that rappers cop every once in a while. Notably, Drake can do it and has done it already. Perhaps, “I wear every single chain, even when I’m in the house” Drake rapped on ‘Started From the Bottom’ asserting the highlife status that he has.

Ordering the impossible. An expedition spanning 14 months. Every diamond hand-selected. Inspected to only suit perfection… New piece titled ‘Previous Engagements’ for all the times he thought about it but never did it,” a female narrator in an IG video by Alex Moss says. “42 engagement rings, 351.38 carats in diamonds. By Alex Moss New York & Drake.”
