Legendary emcee and songwriter Drake, born Aubrey “Drake” Graham, has stirred major controversy after the “For All The Dogs” rapper voiced his support for imprisoned rapper Tory Lanez.
Reportedly, Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for reportedly assaulting and shooting American Woman emcee Meghan Thee Stallion in July 2020.
At present, “The Color Violet” Grammy-nominated rapper stands convicted on three critical felonies – assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
The Toronto-bred mogul took to Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday to express his support for Lanez’s release. “3 You”, or “Free You”, Drake wrote via Instagram. Notably, Drizzy dissed Stallion on “Her Loss” – his joint album with 21 Savage and allegedly referred to Megan’s accusation as a “lie” and drew flak from the “Not Nice” rapper at the time.

Stallion or Lanez’s team is yet to respond to the incident.
Recently, Drake dissed the Recording Academy after “Her Loss” didn’t take home the 66th Grammy Award for ‘Best Rap Album’.
“All you incredible artists remember this show isn’t the facts it’s just the opinion of a group of people whose name are kept a secret (literally you can Google it). Congrats to anybody winning anything for Hip-Hop but this doesn’t dictate shit in our world,” Drizzy said at the time.
Besides Lanez, Drake continues to be vocal about the infamous incarceration of Atlanta’s legendary emcee Young Thug.
In January, the top-tier rapper expressed concerns over serious “jail misconduct” after Thugger’s private jail conversation with girlfriend Mariah The Scientist surfaced online in January.
At the time, the legendary emcee went against the Chief Judge of Atlanta Ural Glanville and termed the ongoing RICO case as “disgraceful” and even “a wash”.
