Legendary emcee and “Best Rapper Alive” Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., and Atlanta’s iconic incarcerated rapper Young Thug have announced their rare collaboration “Bless”.
The forthcoming single, which is set to appear on Wayne & superproducer Wheezyouttahere‘s joint LP “Weezy Vs. Wheezy, will mark the rapper’s first collaboration in nearly 10 years.
Reportedly, Wayne & Thugger linked up for their sprawling debut collaboration “Take Kare” in 2014. Released via Cash Money Records, the single was produced by London On Da Track and arrived amidst Rich Gang’s meteoric rise to prominence at the time.
For Wayne & Thug, the single further puts an end to an infamous feud which dates back to 2015. At the time, the YSL-bossman and American rap mogul Birdman allegedly conspired to shoot Weezy’s tour bus in 2015.
The concerning incident was preceded by Thug & Wayne exchanging heat amidst the “Barter 6” mixtape rollout.
However, the feud seems to have ended now with Wayne & Slime gearing up for “Bless”. Check out the announcement by Lil Wayne below via Instagram.
For Wayne, the single & the forthcoming collaboration album with Wheezy arrives amidst high anticipation for “Tha Carter VI”.
The notorious Young Money Entertainment emcee is yet to release perhaps the most awaited rap record of his career and has instead dropped two major full-length projects – “Welcome 2 Collegrove” collaboration album with 2 Chainz and “Tha Fix Before Tha VI” mixtape.
