Legendary Indian emcee and record producer Yo Yo Honey Singh, born Hirdesh Singh, has joined forces with media streaming behemoth Netflix for a massive autobiographical documentary “Famous”.
Directed by Mumbai-based filmmaker Mozez Singh, the 90-minute cut captures the “International Villager” rapper’s global breakthrough nearly 12 years ago and the infamous fall-off at the peak of his career due to drug and alcohol abuse.
The rapper further provides a deep dive into his coveted rap group Mafia Mundeer and features appearances by Hindi actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Besides the Indian cinema mavericks, veteran Punjabi singer Jazzy B makes a cameo in the documentary film too.
The film is produced by Oscar awardees Guneet Monga and Achin Jain.

For Singh, the documentary arrives amidst his unprecedented “comeback” in Indian rap music.
Most recently, the notorious “Gaddi Shookdi” rapper premiered his massive self-produced track “Hitman” for the “Fateh” film. Singh continues to drop incendiary cuts from his summer LP “Glory” too.
Last weekend, Yo Yo linked up with Punjabi pop superstar AP Dhillon and veteran singer Jazzy B at his sold-out Delhi concert.
