Amidst a sprawling return to live folk music last year, Coke Studio’s Indian faction titled “Coke Studio Bharat” is gearing up for its sophomore season.

The historic music series, which witnessed performances by various emcees and singers last summer including Seedhe Maut, Prabh Deep, Rashmeet Kaur and legendary Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, has now joined forces with a slew of flagrant rappers, pop singers and record producers for its second season.

Reportedly, “Coke Studio Bharat” season two will feature performances by British Punjabi emcee Raf Saperra, Haryanvi rap star MC Square, Punjabi superproducer Ikky, Hashbass and legendary Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal.

Further, Diljit Dosanjh will perform this year after linking up with Columbian singer Camilo Echeverry on “Palpita” for Coke Studio’s first Indian season after nearly eight years. Besides Dosanjh, Indian folk singer Kamala Devi, rising singer Kanishk Seth and breakout dance act The Quick Style are gearing up for their Coke Studio performances.

For Saperra, his Coke Studio Bharat debut arrives amidst high anticipation for his debut EP “Five Deadly Venomz”. Slated to release later this year through Nas’ marquee record label Mass Appeal India, the 5-track project will feature a guest verse by American emcee Dave East.

Further, Dosanjh is gearing up his forthcoming “collab album” featuring some of the finest rap superstars and superproducers. Last year, Dosanjh confirmed new music with NLE Choppa and Hip-Hop superproducer Honorable C.N.O.T.E.

That announcement was preceded by Dosanjh announcing a slew of collaborations with American rapper Saweetie and The Bronx’s A Boogie With Da Hoodie and Hip-Hop superproducer London On Da Track.

Look out for “Coke Studio Bharat” Season Two.
