Atlanta’s leading record producer Metro Boomin’ shared an emotional note in the aftermath of Take-off’s death. Boomin has worked with some of the biggest rappers from Atlanta and beyond and produced hit records such as ‘Heartless’ by The Weeknd, ‘Where Ya At’ by Drake & Future, ‘Mask Off’ by Future and more.

However, his biggest hit was with Migos – the trendsetting hip-hop trio that Take-off was a part of alongside Quavo and Offset – released in 2016. Titled “Bad & Boujee”, the record featured Lil Uzi Vert as well. However, amidst the litigation with 300 Entertainment, Take-off didn’t rap on that track.

Here’s Quavo explaining the reasons for it on Rap Radar Podcast:

In a personal note addressed to Take-off, Boomin wrote that “this not just one of my rapper friends, Take was a selfless and truly standup human being. Someone I could call my brother with the most confidence”.

“Music brought us together 10 years ago but played a small role in our friendship and brotherhood overall” the ‘Low Life’ producer continued.

Boomin also expressed his concerns over how people would “pass” Take-off’s death as just another “gossip” or a “headline” and that “real lives (have) perished and there are real mothers & fathers, brothers & sisters, sons & daughters, girlfriends, wives, boyfriends, and husbands on the other end of those headlines who now have to deal with the trauma of those realities for the rest of their lives”.
