Mobb Deep’s ‘Hell On Earth’ Turns 26

New York City’s iconic Hip-Hop duo Mobb Deep released their third collaborative effort Hell on Earth 26 years ago today. Considered the progenitors of raw and brash east coast hip-hop, Mobb Deep is one of the greatest Hip-Hop acts that pioneered fearless lyricism and heavily influenced old-school rap music.

Hell on Earth is the third full-length LP by Mobb Deep – led by Prodigy and Havoc – released on November 19th 1996. The album was entirely produced by Havoc and featured guest appearances by Nas, Raekwon, Method Man and Big Noyd. The album consists some of the most influential records by Mobb Deep including ‘Drop A Gem On ‘Em’ – a response to Tupac Shakur’s diss track ‘Hit ‘EM Up’, ‘Hell on Earth (Frontlines) and ‘G.O.D. Pt. III’.
