Punjabi Hip-Hop/Rap and Pop superstar AP Dhillon, born Amrit Pal Singh Dhillon, has debuted on the Billboard Canada 100 Chart. Reportedly, the legendary Punjabi artist’s sprawling pop single “With You” has razed through the Billboard Hot 100 Canada chart to debut at the 42nd spot.
The infectious pop single, which is Dhillon’s third single this year, replaces Travis Scott’s massive rap record “My Eyes” from his recently released “Utopia” LP.
Notably, Karan Aujla’s “Admirin’ You” single from the “Making Memories” album stays firm at the 41st spot. On 17 August, the Ikky-produced Punjabi pop record which features a guest verse by Preston Pablo, debuted at 29th position replacing another Travis Scott record “K-Pop”.
Further, Dhillon’s “With You” single is one of the numerous Punjabi records that have charted at the Billboard Hot 100 Canada.
Earlier this year, Divine and Sidhu Moose Wala’s hard-hitting posthumous single “Chorni” debuted at the Billboard Hot 100 Canada chart at the 27th spot.
“Chorni” was preceded by Shubh debuting his sprawling hit record “Still Rollin” on the Hot 100 chart at the 40th spot. At the time, the track surpassed major label releases including “America Has A Problem (Remix)” by Beyoncé & Kendrick Lamar, “War Bout It” by Lil Durk & 21 Savage and more.
Released on August 11, “With You” arrived amidst high anticipation for Dhillon’s documentary series “AP Dhillon: First of A Kind” featuring Gurinder Gill, Nas & more. In fact, Dhillon first announced the single within hours of premiering an exclusive preview of the documentary.
As reported earlier, “With You” marks Dhillon’s abrupt return to evocative Punjabi Pop and serves as the follow-up to two massive records – “Sleepless” and “True Stories” alongside Shinda Kahlon.
As Dhillon’s latest track continues to gain unprecedented momentum across the globe, the ‘GOAT’ has further released the Jay Ahmad-directed docuseries after a star-studded premiere in Mumbai.
Reportedly, Indian Hip-Hop superstars MC Stan, Badshah and King attended the intimate red carpet ceremony alongside Indian cinema’s influential actor and rapper Ranveer Singh, Punjabi Pop and R&B pioneer Harrdy Sandhu.
