Quavo Releases Mike Dean-produced ‘Without You’, Dedicated to Takeoff

Take-off’s uncle (and one-third of the now dismantled hip-hop trio Migos) Quavo has released a new rap record dedicated to the late rapper. Titled ‘Without You’, the track clocks in at just over four minutes and captures the Migos’ bossman reminiscing about the times when Takeoff was around. The production on the record is led by the legendary Mike Dean, Murda Beatz, Zaytoven and more.

“I don’t know if I’m the same without you (Yeah, I’m ain’t the same)
It ain’t no gang without you (No, it ain’t no gang, nah)
Birthdays ain’t the same without you (No)
Christmas ain’t the same without you (No)
I’ma represent your name when it’s ’bout you
I wouldn’t have got it out the mud without you (Mud)
It’s hard to see Mama Love without you (Mama), mama, mama
It’s hard to see Mama Love without you (Mama Love, yeah),”
Quavo raps over the track.

In November last year, Quavo penned down an emotional letter to the late Takeoff, after days of silence over the rapper’s death.

Since we were kids you been by my side lookin up at me, them eyes waiting on me to make the next move.. then you followed up right behind me. You always made sure I did it first so you can do it right with me. You never competed with me, we were always on same team. You hated playing against me because I was always playing too hard or too ruff then I can hear my mama say “sonnnn not too ruff” cuz I didn’t like to lose!” Quavo wrote at the time.

Take-off – real name Kirshnik Khari Ball – was shot dead in Houston on November 1st 2022 after a scuffle ensued between him, Quavo and another group during a dice game. He was the youngest member of arguably the finest modern hip-hop group and was only 28 years old.
