Queens emcee & member of the Das Racist rap act Heems, born Himanshu Kumar Suri, has released the third lead single from his sophomore LP this year. Titled “Rakhi”, the single is set to feature on Heems’ “Veena” album and arrives via Nas‘ coveted record label Mass Appeal.

For Heems, “Rakhi” serves as the follow-up to two provocative singles – “Dame” & “Manto” – from the LP and the rapper joins forces with rising Punjabi emcee Pavvan and Ajji.

Set to release on August 23rd, Heems’ “LAFANDAR” follow-up will traverse 11 rap records and feature guest verses by Indian satirist Hasan Minhaj, Cool Calm Pete, Mr Cheeks, Navz-47, Vijay Iyer and “voice notes” from “Gully Boy” director & Bollywood filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, Swet Shop Boys affiliate Riz Ahmad & more as per Pitchfork.

Besides the three lead singles, “Veena” is home to various evocative songtitles including “Bourdain”, “Banshee”, “Juhi” and “Ratatouille”.
