Billionaire rapper, music & media business mogul and B.E.T. Lifetime Achievement Honoree Diddy is accused of rape and sexual assault. The shocking lawsuit, which arrives after Sean Combs’ former partner and American singer Cassie accused him of years of sexual abuse and rape, is filed by a woman who went on a date with the emcee in 1991 in Harlem, New York.
A college student at the time, the plaintiff, Joi Dickerson-Neal, says that she was drugged by Diddy “resulting in her being in a physical state where she could not independently stand or walk.”
The plaintiff further said that Diddy even filmed himself sexually assaulting her and showed the footage to numerous people.
As per BBC, Diddy has vehemently denied the accusations levelled against him. “This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law can be turned on its head. Ms Dickerson’s 32-year-old story is made up and not credible,” Diddy’s representative said in a scathing statement.
Notably, Cassie’s lawsuit was settled within 24 hours of its filing last week. However, that left a wide faction of Hip-Hop worried about the incident.
The lawsuit further notes that Diddy’s actions left a massive impact on Dickerson’s mental health and resulted in her “dropping out of college” at the time.
“Our client has not been able to escape the continuing impact of the harm Combs caused her many years ago,” said Jonathan Goldhirsch, one of the plaintiff’s lawyers, in a statement.
