Maryland’s iconic emcee, record producer and songwriter Logic, born Robert Bryson Hall II, has reportedly parted ways with his entire rap music catalogue.
In an undisclosed eight-figure deal, the legendary emcee’s “music catalogue spanning 185 titles” has been acquired by the Influencer Media Group and arrives within weeks after Hip-Hop superproducer Metro Boomin sold a “massive portion” of his “entire music catalogue” for roughly above $70 million in March.
As per HipHopDx.com, the deal includes “Logic’s multi-platinum single “1-800-273-8255” with Alessia Cara and Khalid, “Everyday” with Marshmello, “Homicide” with Eminem and “Sucker For Pain” with Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons and Ty Dolla $ign.
Following a ten-year stint with Def Jam Recordings, Logic released his eighth LP “College Park” on February 23rd 2023.
Featuring guest verses and productions by RZA, Redman, Statik Selektah, Joey Bada$$ and more, the LP was Logic’s first independent album. Over the years, Logic linked up with Def Jam Recordings for seven iconic rap LPs including the “Under Pressure” and “YSIV” LPs.
This is the second massive rap buyout by Influencer Media Group since announcing a $750 million fund last year. In September, Atlanta’s rap pioneer Future sold a massive portion of his music catalogue, which reportedly included over 600 titles, for an undisclosed eight-figure deal as well.
Speaking on its latest acquisition of perhaps one of the most influential discographies in rap music, Influence Media Group said that it “further solidifies Influence Media’s investment in the future of Hip Hop within the music publishing and content rights marketplace.” The fund is backed by New York’s Blackrock.
“Making music has always been a creative outlet and a form of therapy for me, and I’ve been humbled by how deeply it has connected with people around the world,” said Logic, according to the press release.
“It’s important to me that the positive messages of my music continue to reach new audiences, and I’m excited to partner with Rene and the Influence Media Partners team to make a further impact through creativity.”
