Lil Wayne Teams Up With DMX For ‘Tha Carter VI’ Lead Single ‘Kant Nobody’

Hip-Hop’s tall figure Lil Wayne – often referred to as Weezy F. Baby – has begun the rollout for his 14th studio album ‘Tha Carter VI’. Wayne has recruited the late Mount Vermont, New York-emcee DMX – real name Earl Simmons – and Swizz Beats for ‘Kant Nobody’ – the lead single from the highly anticipated LP.

‘Kant Nobody’ is a hard-hitting old-school rap record which portrays Weezy’s flagrant return to the rap game. One of the most influential artists of his generation, Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter VI’ is a top-tier project that everyone has an eye on. Notably, the DMX feature is courtesy of ‘N*ggaz Done Started Something’ sample from the late emcee’s debut studio album ‘It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot’.

During an interview with MTV on March 12th 2014, Lil Wayne stated that ‘Tha Carter V’ is his ‘final album’ and the last from the highly coveted ‘Tha Carter’ LP series. “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it’s definitely the final Carter album. It’s the final Carter album,” Wayne said to MTV at the time.

However, the legendary ‘A Milli’ emcee was willing to make an exception if he gets paid. “25 to 35 million would get me to do another solo album after this,’ Wayne said. Perhaps, Weezy just got it. His latest single is a self-absorbing incendiary record. Clocking in at exactly three minutes, the single is written by Wayne, Marvin Gaye and DMX.

‘Lovin’ what you do, and doin’ what you do
With the pure enjoyment of knowin’ that you’re the best at what you do (Okay)
Yo, couldn’t nobody fuck with me then
And couldn’t nobody fuck with me now, yo
Can’t be serious, yo (What?)
Can’t nobody, nobody, no-fuckin’-body (What, what, what?)
Fuck with me with this rap shit, yo (what, what?)’
Wayne & DMX rap on the track’s intro.

Clearly, Wayne is coming for the top spot this year. Look out for ‘Tha Carter VI’ by Lil Wayne.
