As the world continues to listen to Young Thug’s third studio album “Business is Business”, Hip-Hop superproducer Southside, born Joshua Howard Luellen, has revealed that the album’s executive producer Metro Boomin “took only 2 weeks” to produce the entire album.
As per rap’s leading news agency TMZ, the Atlanta-based superproducer Boomin, who is listed as executive producer on the LP, pieced “Business is Business” together in 2 weeks.
Notably, in a first, TMZ has confirmed that Thugger’s vocals were recorded through a prison phone “to beef up his existing vocals due to his incarceration.”
Notably, Southside, who produced the hard-hitting rap record “Slatty” featuring Lil Durk and Yak Gotti on YSL’s “Slime Language 2” compilation LP, co-produced “Hoodie” alongside Boomin on Thug’s latest LP.
As reported earlier, Thug premiered the “Business Is Business” LP on June 23, 2023.
The album, which arrived after an exact week after Gunna released his 4th studio album “A Gift & A Curse”, Thugger recruited some of Hip-Hop’s most influential emcees and teamed up with marquee record producers David & Eli, Wheezy, Aviator Keyyz, Kid Masterpiece, D Rich, Dr Luke, FNZ, F1lthy, Allen Ritter, Dre Moon, Southside and more.
In March this year, Hip-Hop super producer Hit-Boy dissed Boomin and Southside over the two producers with not enough “Boom Bap” or “808s” in their rap records.
“I’m usually homeboys with producers I get compared to, but on this one, I want to say I’m stretched out, extra leg room/ I don’t really know dude, he seems like a cool cat/ But I never once heard Metro Boomin do boom bap/ I never heard a Southside beat without an 808 in it/ HB in drunk-driver mode, I swerve in every lane with it/ “I f*** with Mustard, he can make that ratchet s*** with his eyes closed/ But now I’m starting to wonder can that n**** chop soul?” Hit-Boy rapped at the time.

This has been a massive year for Boomin. Ahead of Young Thug’s star-studded LP, Young Metro executive-produced the “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” soundtrack. The OST was preceded by Boomin’s sophomore studio album “Heroes & Villains” and co-producing “Popular” by The Weeknd, Mike Dean, Playboi Carti and Madonna.
