On October 2, rap provocateur and pioneer Divine turned 33. The legendary rapper and songwriter, who continues to impact and influence Indian rap music for over ten years, was remembered by a faction of underprivileged children in Rajasthan on his birthday.
The young kids, who reportedly celebrated the Gully Gang affiliate’s birthday far away from Divine’s very own Mumbai, were seen wishing him and sent him their heartfelt “blessings” amidst affecting elation.
Besides Rajasthan, Divine’s own turf Mumbai honoured and remembered Divine’s historic impact too. Emcees, record producers and fans across Bombay shared numerous stories on Instagram saluting and wishing Indian rap’s cult figure.
While people across India gave Divine his flowers, he was swift to respond with levelled vigour. In fact, the legendary Gully Gang-affiliate and frontman, often considered as the most influential figure in Indian Hip-Hop by many, shared an affecting preview of new with his fans.
Not just the preview, Divine further announced new music which might release this year. Notably, Divine first shared an audio preview of the track, which now arrives with a brief visual treatment, in June months ahead of his sprawling global tour.

Divine, who is now in the 10th year of his rap career, is one of the most revered figures in Indian rap music.
The flagrant rapper and music business mogul, who started off with “Yeh Mere Bombay” single now stands at the helm of Hip-Hop and dons a riveting discography of three full-length LPs – the historic debut “Kohinoor”, “Punya Papa” and the star-studded “Gunehgar” album released last year.
Most recently, Divine linked up with another legendary emcee and ‘his brother’ Sidhu Moose Wala on “Chorni”.
The rap icon, who draws influence from slain rappers Nipsey Hussle, Tupac Shakur & Moose Wala, now gears up for new music amidst a sold-out tour across the globe.
