Queens, New York’s legendary emcee and former G-Unit boss man 50 Cent has finally earned his first ‘RIAA Diamond’ rap record. Reportedly, Fiddy’s wildly recognized single “In Da Club”, which surpassed a massive billion streams on Spotify in December last year, has sold over 10 million copies in the United States and has now become the 43rd rap record ever to reach the diamond status.
Produced by Dr. Dre & Mike Elizondo, “In Da Club” was released alongside his debut studio album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in 2003.
The star-studded album went on to become one of the most influential records in Hip-Hop history and features guest appearances by Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Lloyd Banks and more. Besides “In Da Club”, the 20-track LP is home to 50’s iconic records including “Patiently Waiting”, “P.I.M.P.”, “21 Questions”, “What Up Gangsta” and more.
Notably, 50 Cent is touring across the globe to celebrate 20 years of “Get Rich or Die Tryin”.
Later this month, Fiddy will perform in Mumbai after 16 years as part of his “Final Lap Tour”. Numerous South Asian rap stars including Indian Hip-Hop pioneer Divine, Yung Raja, Jaffna’s SVDP & Prabh Deep are slated to join 50 Cent rapper for massive opening acts.
