Brooklyn’s Hip-Hop mogul and emcee Jay-Z, born Shawn Corey Carter, and legendary R&B singer D’Angelo have finally announced their debut collaborative effort. The “9 minutes, 33 seconds of absolute soulful biblical bliss” is slated to appear on “The Book of Clarence” film executive-produced by HOV himself.

While both Jay-Z and D’Angelo are yet to reveal any further details about the forthcoming collaboration, it was first confirmed by “The Book of Clarence” film director Jeymes Samuel who sat down for an exclusive chat with veteran Hip-Hop journalism Elliot Wilson and Jigga over the weekend.

Upon its release, the massive single will serve as the sophomore rap record from”The Book of Clarence”. In November, “Best Rapper Alive” Lil Wayne, Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks joined forces for the soundtrack album’s lead single “Hallelujah Heaven”.

As reported earlier, “The Book of Clarence” casts Lakeith Stanfield, Anna Diop, David Oyelowo, Micheal Ward, Omar Sy, Teyana Taylor, Caleb McLaughlin, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Eric Kofi-Abrefa. Further, the film is written and directed by Jeymes Samuel.

Last year, HOVA was involved in extremely high-profile public affairs including Pharrell Williams‘ historic debut as Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director in Paris. It was preceded by Hov’s intimate live set during Louis Vuitton’s Jean Michel Basquiat X Andy Warhol exhibit in Paris. Jay-Z even went on to premiere the “New York Concept De Paris” single at the time.

Look out for D’Angelo & Jay-Z’s forthcoming rap single.
