Indian Hip-Hop and R&B superstar King has teamed up with global pop music icon Nick Jonas for ‘Maan Meri Jaan’ (Remix). Originally released as the fourth record on King’s top-selling LP ‘Champagne Talk’, the track sits at just short of 200 million streams on Spotify alone. Notably, the latest remix with Nick Jonas arrives within days after Afropop superstar Ray Vanny provided his stunning vocals on the track.
However, this isn’t the first time that King has collaborated with influential global artists to remix records on ‘Champagne Talk’. In December last year, King linked up with Masked Wolf for the hard-hitting ‘Oops’ remix as well. Check out the exclusive ‘Maan Meri Jaan (After Life)’ artwork here.
Going by Spotify streaming data, Maan Meri Jaan is the top-selling record from King’s Champagne Talk album. Produced by Saurabh Lokhande, the record sits at over half a billion streams across platforms and has established King as one of the most revered genre-fluid artists of his generation.
Ever since the release of ‘Champagne Talk’, King has been making major global moves. Besides his collaborative effort with Ray Vanny, King closed off last year with a sold-out show in Dubai. The young emcee performed an opening set for Post Malone in Mumbai too.
Further, the Delhi-based rapper is gearing up for his debut at the Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi. King is just one of the three Indian acts that will perform at the highly coveted festival. Besides the ‘Carnival’ emcee, India’s Hip-Hop royalty Divine and Rajakumari will join Karachi’s Young Stunners at Wireless. Notably, global rap superstars Travis Scott and Philadeplhia’s Lil Uzi Vert will headline the March festival.
