Compton’s legendary emcee and record producer Kendrick Lamar has linked up with his cousin Baby Keem for a new hard-hitting rap record. Titled “The Hillbillies”, the EVILGIANE-produced single arrives alongside a provocative visual treatment directed by Neal Farmer.
Notably, the visuals feature the “Call If You Get Lost” emcee Tyler, The Creator and samples Bon Iver’s “PDFIF” – the lead single from Iver’s 2019 record “i,i”. The rap record, which has Lamar and Keem comparing themselves to professional athletes Neymar Jr. and Messi respectively, portrays the rapper’s thoughts on designer clothes, women and their meteoric rise to global prominence.
For Kendrick Lamar, the record arrives within days after Kung-Fu Kenny linked up with Houston’s legendary pop singer and rapper Beyoncé on “America Has A Problem (Remix)”. It was produced by Mike Dean.

“The Hillbillies” arrived out of nowhere and has stirred far-reaching conversations about Baby Keem’s upcoming record. Upon its release, Tyler, The Creator took to Twitter to confirm his involvement in Lamar and Keem’s surprise drop. Check it out here.
As per the leading Hip-Hop website genius.com, “The Hillbillies” might be a part of Keem’s “eerietimes” record.
Over the years, Keem has previewed and teased at least seven rap records from the highly anticipated album – “Lexus”, “F— The Night Up”, “100 Bands”, “Wildfires”, “Shibuya”, “Fuego” and the latest single “The Hillbillies” alongside Kendrick Lamar.
Look out for “eeriestimes” by Baby Keem perhaps this year.
