As the anticipation for Karan Aujla’s upcoming album “Making Memories” catches heat, the LP’s lead pop single “Admirin’ You” featuring Canadian pop singer Preston Pablo has razed through the Billboard Hot 100 Canada chart to debut at the 29th spot.
The hard-hitting Punjabi record, which was released earlier this year, replaces Travis Scott‘s “K-Pop” single featuring Latin rap superstar Bad Bunny and legendary Pop and R&B emcee The Weeknd. Interestingly, “K-Pop” served as the lead single to Scott’s most recent rap LP “Utopia”.
Notably, Karan Aujla’s “Admirin’ You” single is the fourth biggest Indian record to chart on Billboard Hot 100 Canada this year. Most recently, Divine and Sidhu Moose Wala’s hard-hitting posthumous single “Chorni” debuted at the Billboard Hot 100 Canada chart at the 27th spot.
“Chorni” was preceded by Shubh debuting his sprawling hit record “Still Rollin” on the Hot 100 chart at the 40th spot. At the time, the track surpassed major label releases including “America Has A Problem (Remix)“ by Beyoncé & Kendrick Lamar, “War Bout It” by Lil Durk & 21 Savage and more.
For Aujla, “Admirin’ You” is his second Punjabi track to chart at Billboard Hot 100 Canada. ‘Geetan Di Machine’ & Badshah‘s incendiary debut collaborative effort “Players” debuted at the 91st spot in January.
Aujla’s Billboard breakthrough arrives amidst two major events in his career. The influential emcee and global hitmaker is gearing up for his full-length LP “Making Memories”.
Slated to release at midnight, the LP is executive-produced by Punjabi rap superproducer Ikky and consists of 9 new Punjabi records – “Girl, I Love You (Euro’s Intro)”, “What…?”, “Jee Ni Lagda”, “Try Me”, “Champion’s Anthem”, “Softly”, “You”, “Bachke Bachke” featuring Yarah and “Admirin’ You”.
Further, Aujla is gearing up for the “Making Memories World Tour” later this year.
The tour, which will be managed by global ticketing agency Live Nation, will traverse New York, Washington, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Indianapolis and Chicago. After the U.S. leg, Aujla will reportedly head towards England, Canada and perhaps India.
Look out for the ‘Making Memories’ LP by Karan Aujla & Ikky.
