San Francisco-based legendary emcee Larry June, born Larry Eugene Hendricks III, has linked up with Hip-Hop superproducer The Alchemist for a new documentary.
Titled ‘The Great Escape’, the 13-minute documentary is directed by influential rap filmmaker Miggs and arrives just days ahead of their debut collaborative effort “The Great Escape” LP.
The short film further builds up the hype for the highly anticipated rap record by the Hip-Hop pioneers. As announced earlier, the LP is slated to drop on April 1st 2023.
The film captures June and Alchemist putting in studio time and chopping a wide range of samples for their upcoming album. Notably, Taylor Gang’s bossman Wiz Khalifa and Jay Worthy can be heard dropping their guest verse on the LP.

“The Great Escape” is set to serve as the follow-up to June’s 12th studio album “Spaceships on the Blade”. Released on August 19th 2022 through EMPIRE, the 20-track LP featured guest verses from Herm Lewis, Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang labelmate Curren$y, 2 Chainz, DUCKWRTH and XXL freshman Babyface Ray.
The Alchemist’s joint effort arrives amidst his recent record with the “Surf or Drown” rapper and record producer Hit-Boy. Titled “Slippin into the Darkness”, the far-reaching record was first released as a visual-only effort. Notably, the record has Hit-Boy and Alchemist rapping over each other production and finessing their mega-success in Hip-Hop music.
Hit-Boy takes it further and drops controversial verses against Metro Boomin, Hitmaka a.k.a. Yung Berg, DJ Mustard and Southside.
