Nearly a month after Chicago emcee and “Only The Family” frontman Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, revealed that his “criminal record has been wiped out”, the “Almost Healed” rapper was arrested by US Marshals in Florida and held at Broward County Correctional Facility.
The rapper, who will be extradited to California later today, is arrested under infamous “murder for hire” federal charges and plotting to kill NBA YoungBoy affiliate Quando Rondo’s cousin Lul Pub in Los Angeles in 2022 and attempted murder of the “ABG” rapper.
Besides Durk, 5 OTF associates Kavon London Grant, AKA “Vonnie”, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, AKA “DeDe”, Keith Jones, AKA “Flacka”, David Brian Lindsey, AKA “Browneyez”, and Asa Houston, AKA “Boogie”, were arrested too.
Reportedly, Rondo was involved in a fatal altercation with Durk’s protégé King Von outside a nightclub in Atlanta. The “Armed & Dangerous” rapper was killed later that night.
The Voice‘s arrest has left his debut collaboration with Indian emcee Karan Aujla in disarray. The top-tier “Sifar Safar” and “Champions” rappers, who stirred massive collaboration rumours earlier this summer, were allegedly gearing up for a new track later this year.
Besides Aujla, Smurk is gearing up for a forthcoming rap record with British rap MVP Central Cee too.
Just ahead of his arrest, Durk announced the release date for his 9th studio album “Deep Thoughts”. Set to release on November 22, the LP is home to previously released records “Late Checkout”, “Monitoring Me” produced by “Mixtape Pluto” producer Southside, “Opportunist” and “Turn Up A Notch”.
