Punjabi emcee, record producer & songwriter AP Dhillon, born Amritpal Singh Dhillon, has just announced his debut solo album. Titled “The Brownprint”, the forthcoming LP is set to drop on August 23rd via Republic Records and will mark the “Not By Chance” rapper’s first full-length project in nearly four years.
Notably, the announcement arrives amidst Dhillon gearing up for the album’s massive lead single “Old Money”. Set to release this Friday, the single will feature guest appearances by Indian actors Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
Earlier today, Dhillon shared an epic “Old Money” trailer featuring Khan via Instagram. The internet-breaking announcement arrived alongside an affecting message by Dhillon.
“I started out as an artist hoping to inspire the next generation and leave a legacy that really impacts our culture and community. Streams, awards, sold-out shows, the headlines… along the way I learned that all of these things do nothing but inflate your ego and take away from what really matters… the music… the art!,” Dhillon said via the platform.
“I got tired of doing things the simple way which is why I have been taking my time to create something truly special for all of you. With God’s blessings, I got 2 of the biggest icons our world has ever seen to support me in accomplishing this goal,” the “Lifestyle” emcee said further.
For Dhillon, “The Brownprint” LP arrives amidst a slew of rap records with Mass Appeal this year. Earlier this summer, the “Majhail” emcee joined forces with British Grime MVP Stormzy on “Problems Over Peace” single.
It was preceded by top-tier records “Real Talk”, “Sleepless”, “Lifestyle” & “Scars”, pop single “With You” and “True Stories”.
While Dhillon is yet to reveal any further details about his forthcoming LP, the rapper is yet to collaborate with Gurinder Gill. In May, the “Don’t Test” emcee previewed a flagrant snippet produced by Money Musik and Lil Baby‘s “My Turn” record producer Chi Chi.
