Breaking: Punjab’s Hard-Hitting Emcee Wazir Patar Announces Sophomore Album ‘Street Knowledge’

Majha, Punjab’s influential rapper, record producer and songwriter Wazir Patar has just announced his new Punjabi rap album. Titled “Street Knowledge”, Patar is slated to drop the sophomore album on September 4th 2023.

While Patar is yet to unveil the album’s official tracklist, the rapper and R&B singer shared the exclusive “Street Knowledge” artwork alongside a cryptic message.

“I’M STREET SO LOOK BOTH WAYS BEFORE YOU CROSS ME,” Patar wrote alongside the artwork. The LP’s title has left Punjabi Hip-Hop listeners guessing about Patar’s massive return to classic Punjabi gangsta rap records. Last month, Patar forayed into Punjabi R&B and released “Suneya Main”.

Interestingly, Patar has been switching genres vehemently this year.

While “Suneya Main” was Patar’s rare R&B record, it was preceded by “The Last Ride” producer’s iconic gangsta rap EP “Back To Skool”. The 5-track rap album is home to cult classics including “Hustle Evuryday”, “Bold And Brave”, “Hussan Illahi”, “Ind-Suzuki” and “E-mail” and was preceded by Patar’s Punjabi pop record “Some Memories”.

Recently, the late Punjabi rap superstar Sidhu Moose Wala and his protégé Wazir Patar’s alleged unreleased track leaked online. Titled “Katl”, the hard-hitting track first surfaced on YouTube and later joined a slew of unreleased Moose Wala records which have leaked since his controversial death in Mansa, Punjab last year.

While the young emcee redefined Punjabi gangsta rap through ruthless record production on Sidhu Moose Wala‘s “GOAT” and “Malwa Block” from the latter’s third and final studio album “Moosetape”, Patar made his first major label debut with the “Keep It Gangsta” EP.

Released through India’s coveted rap record label Def Jam Recordings India, Patar put forth his unapologetic gangsta rap built from scratch by himself.

At the time of releasing “Suneya Main”, Culture Haze speculated about Patar finally dropping a full-length album. It’s here now.

Look out for the “Streek Knowledge” album by Wazir Patar.
