Breakthrough Malayali rappers Reyan & Melvin have linked up with veteran composer and singer Jassie Gift on a new massive single.
Titled “Thakthom”, the top-tier Afro-fusion single marks the debut collaborative effort between the three southern artists and pits the “Enna Vende” rappers’ infectious Malayali & English falsetto over Gift’s production inspired by dancehall, pop and reggae.
“Thaktom” arrives alongside an exclusive music video featuring Reyan, Melvin and the veteran “Andangakka” composer.

Notably, “Thakthom” arrives amidst a slew of massive releases from the burgeoning southern scene with the Tamil rap superstar Asal Kolaar releasing his latest single “Paiya Dei” yesterday.
For the wildly popular playback rapper, recognised for various vernacular scores including “Na Reddy” with ‘Superstar’ Thalapathy Vijay and Anirudh Ravichander, “Kotha Raja” with Dabzee, Roll Rida, Reshmi Sateesh and Jakes Bejoy, the record continues to raze through pure rap discographies in the south side.
Kolaar’s single is preceded by two massive singles – southern rap singles – “Top Tier Talk” by the “Sambar” emcee Fejo & Parimal Shais and “Torrie Wilson” by Paal Dabba & “Jagga Jatt” producer Sez On The Beat.
The tracks are released in partnership with Def Jam Recordings India and “Red Bull India 64 Bars”.
