Indian Hip-Hop superstars Dino James, Badshah & Ikka have teamed up for a massive collaborative effort. Titled ‘Woh’, the track is slated to release on November 29th 2022. The highly anticipated single comes after the two emcees – Dino & Ikka – announced their debut collaboration over a live set.
Earlier this month, ‘Woh’ was first previewed by Dino James and Ikka on MTV Hustle Season 2. Notably, the release date comes just a day after it was revealed that there would be a third feature on the track as well.
Dino & Ikka took the social media by storm after they confirmed that the third emcee to join them is India’s Hip-Hop global superstar Badshah. While the emcee, lyricist and record producer behind some of the finest rap records including ‘Voodoo’ f/ J Balvin & Lil Baby, ‘Interstellar’, ‘Mercy’ and Indian Hip-Hop’s earliest sounds such as ‘Get Up Jawani’ w/ the iconic Yo Yo Honey Singh has collaborated with Ikka numerous times, it would be a first for Badshah & Dino James to come together for a record.
Mumbai-based Dino James has deftly crafted his own lane in Indian Hip-Hop. To Dino’s fans, he is a cult figure whose sound is hard-hitting, reminiscent of old-school rap & 808s and remains backed by his ferocious lyricism. Dino is an emcee and a modern day poet who prophesizes the struggles, endeavors and emotions with unmatched authenticity. Earlier this year, the emcee released his debut studio album ‘D’ through Def Jam Recordings India. The thirteen-track LP rose to become one of the most influential records in Indian Hip-Hop and elevated Dino’s stature at an unprecedented scale.
Perhaps, MTV Hustle – India’s biggest Hip-Hop show which has facilitated the discovery of rap superstar King and most recently MC Square, Gravity and Paradox – served as an avenue through which the three artists linked up for ‘Woh’. At the two-months long competition which showcased top-notch Hip-Hop performances, rap battles, collaborative efforts and astonishing productions, Badshah and Dino James trained and mentored the next generation of Indian emcees and lyricists alongside King, Dee MC and EPR.
The single will be released through Def Jam Recordings India and is produced by the Emmy-Winning record producer and engineer Aakash. Notably, the Mumbai-based producer led the production on three tracks on King’s third studio album Champagne Talk including Dejalo, Broken Dreams and Na Ja Tu. The iconic producer is behind eight records on Dino James’ debut album too including Chosen, Pyaar Pyaar and Higher.
