In December last year, Atlanta-based record producer Metro Boomin released his highly anticipated sophomore solo LP ‘Heroes & Villains’. The fifteen-track record featured guest appearances by John Legend, Future, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, 21 Savage, Young Nudy, The Weeknd, A$ap Rocky, Takeoff & Gunna. Executive produced by Boomin, the album clocks in at 48 minutes and serves as the follow-up to ‘Not All Heroes Wear Capes’ LP. It was Boomin’s second album to debut at the top spot on Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart.
While Metro Boomin worked with some of the biggest artists in Hip-Hop, the album did not have a guest appearance from the Her Loss emcee and rap superstar Drake. However, an unmastered version of Champagne Papi’s verse on ‘Trance’ – the sixth record on Heroes & Villains featuring YSL’s bossman Young Thug and Houston’s Travis Scott – has surfaced online.
Rap’s leading publication HipHopnMore.com has confirmed in its report about the leaked Drake verse. Notably, the verse was on Metro Boomin’s iconic LP until the last minute but didn’t make it to “the final version.”
