One of Hip-Hop’s most influential rap records “Ni–as in Paris” or “In Paris” by Jay-Z and Kanye West has been certified Diamon by the Recording Industry Association of America. The record serves as the third track on Hova and Ye’s debut collaborative effort “Watch The Throne” released on August 8th 2011.
The LP, which is home to numerous modern rap classics including “No Church In The Wild”, “Lift Off”, “Illest Motherf–ker Alive”, “Who Gon Stop Me”, “Otis” and more, features guest appearances by Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, The-Dream & more. However, the cult rap record is largely driven by Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s incendiary verses and hard-hitting productions across the LP.
“In Paris” is produced by Hip-Hop super producer Hit-Boy with further production assistance from Mike Dean. The record arrived alongside a ‘provocative’ music video directed by Kanye himself. Notably, the track samples “Victory” by Sean Combs featuring The Notorious B.I.G and Busta Rhymes.
Released through Def Jam Recordings, “In Paris” holds a far-reaching influence on the global rap sound and has been listened to over a billion times on Spotify alone. In fact, the “Watch The Throne” LP debuted at the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 with over 436,000 copies sold in its first week.
