Delhi’s influential rap and trap emcee on the rise DRV is gearing up for big moves on Friday. The rapper and record producer, who recently linked up with Qaab and Darcy on “First Time”, has confirmed that he’ll release a new single with Boyblanck on Friday.
Notably, the record arrives just hours before his opening live set for Nigerian pop and Afrorap superstar Rema. The artist, behind worldwide hit records including “Calm Down” alongside Selena Gomez, “Beamer” feat. Rvssian, “Corny”, and “FYN” feat. London’s AJ Tracey is slated to make his live debut in Delhi on May 12th 2023.
Rema’s debut in India arrives just ahead of his highly anticipated performance at the “Afro Nation Festival” in Miami. Reportedly, the rapper and pop singer is slated to perform alongside Burna Boy and the ‘More Love, Less Ego’ emcee Wizkid.
Further, DRV has confirmed that the official rollout of his joint trap mixtape “Multani Mitti” with Boyblanck will begin soon after Friday and fans are looking at two new rap records this month.
For the young trap pioneer, this has been an extraordinary year.
Besides “First Time”, DRV released his hit single “Farak Nahi Padta” in March. With assistance from Sachin Jigar and Nikhil Paul George, the notorious passive-aggressive record serves as the lead single for Amazon’s original series “Farzi” starring Indian cinema superstars including Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon and Vijay Sethupati.
DRV’s feature in Amazon’s Original Series breathed a new life into Indian Hip-Hop’s burgeoning underground scene. It was preceded by his single “Empty” which featured on Netflix’s “Class” and was originally released in June 2020 alongside Loka and Aakash.
