Kendrick Lamar Previews Martin Rose’ Tupac & Eazy-E Inspired Clothing

Earlier today, Kung-Fu Kenny – better known as Kendrick Lamar – took to Instagram to show Martin Rose some love. Everyone who follows Lamar knows that it’s a rarity for the ‘Mr. Morales & the Big Steppers’ emcee to post at length about his music and his people. The legendary Compton-based rapper keeps his social media appearances extremely private and temporary.

However, Lamar showered praise on Rose in a singular IG post. “Bucketlist to work with martine rose she camera shy but gangsta say hello to my young.” Lamar wrote on IG alongside a set of photographs which showcase Rose’s concepts for a ‘Leather Wrap Vest’, ‘Leather Pants’ and a ‘Classic Hoodie’ – all in black colorways.

Notably, the designs are seemingly inspired from Eazy-E and Tupac Shakur’s signature looks from the 90’s. One of the pictures show Eazy-E – real name Eric Lynn Wright – sporting his iconic ‘Compton’ hat and all-leather outfit. Another one shows Tupac sporting his sleeveless men’s leather top.

This isn’t the first time that Lamar is showering praise on fashion this year. Earlier in June, the rapper had performed a stunning live set alongside the all-Black marching band at the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring-Summer 2023 Collection showcase in June. Sitting front row alongside Naomi Campbell and his longtime collaborator Dave Free, Lamar paid his tributes to Virgil Abloh – the late Creative Director of Louis Vuitton and founder of ‘Off-White’ – at the showcase held during the Paris Fashion Week.
