Legendary New York rapper and Hip-Hop mogul 50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, shut down Mumbai on Friday.

The iconic emcee, who arrived in India as part of his globe-trotting “Final Lap Tour” performed some of his most influential rap records and expressed his admiration for Indian fans amidst the historic performance at D.Y. Patil Stadium.

Reportedly, the cult “Get Rich or Die Tryin” rapper performed various marquee rap records including “What Up Gangsta”, “I Get Money”, “Disco Inferno”, “Candy Shop”, “Ayo Technology”, “Window Shopper” and “P.I.M.P.” across his massive live set.

The “In Da Club” emcee was further joined by R&B pioneer Jeremih for an exclusive opening set. The shocking performance was announced just ahead of the mogul’s first performance in India in 16 years.

However, Indian rap royalty Divine, who was slated to join various South Asian rap heavyweights including Yung Raja, Prabh Deep and Shan Vincent De Paul for a flagrant opening act, rescinded his performance last minute citing “technical issues and delays”.

Reportedly, the delays “restricted Divine from putting on a high standard show” at the concert.

50 Cent now heads towards Kazakhstan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his iconic debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin”.
