Breakthrough Delhi-bred emcees Karun & Nanku have released their latest single “Mhmm”. The collaborative effort samples Indian music director R.D. Burman’s classic 1972 composition “Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyar Mei” and was first released nearly 7 years ago. However, the independent single was taken down by streaming platforms due to sample clearances.

Well, the single is here now finally.

Notably, “Mhmm” marks the second such instance where an Indian emcee has sampled R.D. Burman’s composition this year. Last month, Indian rap superstar Dino James sampled Burman’s 1972 track “Dil Lena Khel Hai Dildar Ka” for his massive drill single.

Karun & Nanku are yet to release an exclusive visual treatment for the single.

“Mhmm” arrives through Saregama Music. The coveted label previously joined forces with Indian rap royalty Kr$na & “Street Dreams” record producer Umair for the flagrant “Joota Japani” single. The track sampled “Mera Joota Hai Japani” from the 1955 film “Shree 420”.

For Karun & Nanku, the single marks the second collaborative effort this year. In January, the notorious rappers linked up on “Capital”.
