Mumbai’s iconic young emcees Farhan Khan and Gravity have linked up on a new hard-hitting single. Titled “Lootera”, the latest rap record is produced by Khan’s longtime collaborator Mr Doss with further record production assistance from Outfly.
“Lootera” arrives after Gravity and Khan’s ruthless bar-for-bar exchange on ‘Godfather Cypher’. Performed alongside Bombay Lokal’s Shaikhspeare, the freestyle live record captured the young emcees’ far-reaching lyrical prowess and their ever-growing stature in Indian rap music.
Just ahead of the official release, Farhan Khan dropped an exclusive teaser which stirred high anticipation for the record. Check it out here.
Khan and Gravity go way back in their Hip-Hop careers. With Gravity gearing up for his debut LP “Supervillain” with Outfly, the possibility of Khan having a guest verse on the album can’t be ruled out. The former top contender at MTV Hustle looks more confident and fierce than ever in Khan’s latest single. A massive full-length debut is certainly underway.
Further, Farhan Khan is fresh off his hard-hitting single “Meherban”. The record features a fiery guest verse from the “Industry Galat” emcee Sammohit. Notably, the emcees rose to prominence as part of their contributions to the historic Mumbai-based Hip-Hop collective ‘Bombay Lokal’.
Bombay Lokal is a far-reaching consortium of at least 12 emcees, record producers, beatboxers, B-boys, graffiti artists and DJs. Established in 2017 in Mumbai’s northern suburbs of Vasai, Nalasopara and Virar, the rap collective is home to marquee Hip-Hop artists including Gravity, Farhan Khan, Shaikshpeare, D-Cypher, Beat Raw, Alchemy, Rhymix, Mooz, Roro, Y-Ash, AL. Husxain, The Poet Muse and Last King.
