Nas Celebrates his 49th Birthday During Tour With Wu-Tang Clan

One of the greatest rappers of all time, Nas celebrated his 49th birthday while being on tour with the iconic Wu-Tang Clan.

While being on the N.Y. State of Mind Tour, the Queens rapper went to perform ‘One Mic’ after saluting his “brothers” including RZA, Raekwon, GZA, Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa.

“And you know, these things happen and dudes do have to feed their families,” he said. “Albums don’t sell the way they used to; I’m pretty sure you guys know that. So in order to preserve my lifestyle and feed my family, I had to have alternative means of doing that. And I’m glad to say at 50 years old, I have options. Not everybody can say that. Everyone cannot say that they have options.”

Nas, who first started his career with the release of ‘Illmatic’ on April 19th, 1994, has hit the road for ‘N.Y. State of Mind Tour’ named after his single by the same name. Produced by DJ Premier for which he sampled two jazz songs, “Mind Rain” by Joe Chambers and “Flight Time” by Donald Byrd is one of the finest hip-hop records of all time.
