Legendary rapper, record producer and songwriter Playboi Carti, real name Jordan Terrell Carter, has just announced his first tour in over two years. The “Whole Lotta Red” emcee has revealed that he is slated to go on the “Antagonist” tour with his Opium Record Label affiliates Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang.

In 2021, Carti went on his debut headline tour after his sophomore LP “Whole Lotta Red” went number one on the Billboard Top 200. The rapper, who recently linked up with The Weeknd, Mike Dean and Madonna on “Popular”, is yet to release the LP’s follow-up.

While fans continue to push vehemently for new music by Carti, the “Die Lit” rapper’s decision to go on his sophomore headlining tour is interesting to many.

While Carti has been headlining numerous major events across the world including Rolling Loud California, Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash and most recently, Wireless Festival in London, the “Antagonist” tour might pave the way for various unreleased rap records and perhaps, his long-awaited LP “Music”.

Carti’s “Antagonist” arrives amidst another sensational live set by Travis Scott. The legendary Astroworld rapper is slated to premier his forthcoming LP “Utopia” at the Pyramids of Giza on July 28th.

As for his Opium labelmate Ken Carson, the flagrant artist oftentimes recognised for furthering Carti’s gruff rap music and raging live sets, recently linked up with Lil Uzi Vert on their sprawling third LP “Pink Tape”. Along with producer Clif Shayne, Carson produced “X2” on the “Luv is Rage 3” emcee’s hard-hitting album.

Notably, ahead of “Pink Tape”, Uzi announced new music with Carti too. Vert has even expressed their plans of releasing a “Sixteen X Twenty-Nine” Mixtape album with Carti which reportedly has over 40 unreleased tracks.

In May this year, Destroy Lonely released his debut LP “If Looks Could Kill”. Released via Carti’s Opium and Interscope Records, the massive 27-track effort featured just one guest verse by Carson and featured Lonely’s affecting verses across the album.

Carti’s ‘Antagonist’ tour begins in Denver, Colorado on September 6th. From there, Carti will traverse Las Vegas, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, London, Amsterdam, Milan, Pairs, Berlin, Atlanta, Copenhagen and more cities across the U.S. and Europe.

Look out for the ‘Antagonist’ tour by Playboi Carti this year.
