As Indian rap fans continue to highly anticipate Yo Yo Honey Singh’s first album in 10 years “International Villager 2”, the legendary rapper, record producer and songwriter has confirmed a guest feature by Mumbai’s hard-hitting rapper Emiway Bantai.
The Punjabi veteran emcee, who is often considered the earliest cult figures in Indian Hip-Hop music, first linked up with Bantai at his intimate “Honey 3.0” album launch party in April.
At the time, fans were shocked to see the two rappers, who helm Indian rap music in Mumbai & Punjab, meet amidst Raftaar’s infamous Twitter row against Yo Yo.
Earlier today, Honey Singh shared a photograph of Bantai in a recording session at his sprawling studio.
“My studio is on fire right now !! He drop fire not bars bro !! Welcome my lil bro @emiwaybantai to dilli !!! INTERNATIONAL VILLAGER 2 n many more together,” Honey Singh wrote on Instagram.
Bantai & Honey Singh’s collaborative effort arrives amidst extraordinary times in each other’s massive rap careers.
While the West Delhi-bred rapper is gearing up for the “Desi Kalakaar” sequel “Kalaastar”, Bantai and Hip-Hop superproducer Lazarus continue to tease “Detroit to Antophill” EP featuring legendary Detroit emcee Swifty McVay and Bad Meets Evil-affiliate Royce Da 5’9″.
Notably, besides Bantai, former Gully Gang rapper Shah Rule is slated to feature on Yo Yo’s forthcoming rap record too.
As per Yo Yo, “International Villager 2” arrives next year. Upon its release, the LP will serve as the sequel to the Delhi-based rapper’s iconic debut album “International Villager”.
Released in 2011, the star-studded Punjabi rap record is home to cult Indian Hip-Hop singles including “Get Up Jawani” featuring Badshah, “Goliyan” featuring Diljit Dosanjh, “Dope Shope” featuring Deep Money, “Brown Rang”, “Angrezi Beat” featuring Gippy Grewal & more.
