The historic comeback of legendary rapper and record producer Yo Yo Honey Singh, real name Hirdesh Singh, continues at an unprecedented scale. The rapper, who razed through the internet with the sprawling release of his latest single “Kalastaar”, has now debuted at the top spot on Billboard India Charts with that rap record.
Notably, “Kalaastar” serves as the sequel to Honey Singh’s iconic track “Desi Kalakaar” released in 2014. Within a day after its release, “Desi Kalakaar” itself resurfaced on Billboard India Charts and debuted at the 5th spot furthering Honey Singh’s cult status in Indian rap music.
While Indian Hip-Hop’s veteran trailblazer storms through Billboard with flagrant rap records, he has been making major announcements in the lead-up to his long-awaited rap LP “International Villager 2”.
Yesterday, Honey Singh confirmed his debut collaborative effort with another Desi Hip-Hop pioneer Bohemia.
The revered Punjabi rappers, oftentimes considered as the biggest and perhaps earliest modern rap influences in India and Pakistan, will team up for Honey Singh’s forthcoming Hip-Hop album “International Villager 2”.
The announcement was preceded by Yo Yo confirming another major guest verse by Indian rap icon Emiway Bantai on his forthcoming LP too.
