Wazir Patar Announces New EP

Punjab’s iconic emcee, lyricist and record producer and the late Sidhu Moosewala’s mentee Wazir Patar has announced a new EP. While wide-ranging details about the project including release date, tracklist and artwork are yet to be announced by the ‘The Last Ride’ producer, Patar has confirmed that a new EP is in the works and “on the way”.

Patar is one of the most prolific Punjabi Hip-Hop artists in the Indian rap scene and is behind influential rap records including ‘Keep It Gangsta’ EP with Def Jam Recordings India and a slew of hard-hitting tracks with Sidhu Moosewala including ‘The Last Ride’, ‘Malwa Block’ and ‘GOAT’. Patar rose to prominence with some of the most influential records in Hip-Hop early in his career. The young emcee’s breakthrough tracks including ‘Notorious’, ‘WAHZIRINTHEHOOD’ and more established his position as one of the best in the business.

Most recently, Patar led the production of Tarsem Jasser’s ‘Enigma’ EP. Titled ‘Enigma’, the ‘Kingpin’ rapper and singer drops his ferocious lyricism over Arsenal, Enigma, Feel, Roots and Why Black! Jassar’s latest collaborative effort with Patar transitioned from his constantly switching rhythms between Punjabi Hip-Hop and Pop Folk and delved deeper into hard-hitting old-school rap. Patar further cements the underlying Hip-Hop across the album with his groovy ad-libs.

Further, Patar dropped a guest verse on Divine’s third LP ‘Gunehgar’ on ‘Street Lori’ and joined hands with the Gully Gang bossman during his massive album launch concert in Mumbai.

Few would disagree that Patar has been keeping himself tremendously busy and putting in hours of studio time. Besides releasing hard-hitting projects and guest verses, the “notorious” emcee has shut down various venues across India too.

Look out for Wazir Patar’s upcoming EP.
