Mumbai’s Hip-Hop pioneer Yashraj Mehra, oftentimes referred to as just ‘Yashraj’, has announced his next rap record. Titled “Masroor”, the single is slated to feature underground singer and songwriter Katoptris and arrives after the “Dhundhla” emcee teamed up with Lost Stories, Kimera and Indian pop superstar Arman Malik on “HIIR”.
Ahead of “Masroor”, Yashraj and Katoptris shared the exclusive artwork and a brief preview of the record. Check it out below.
Yashraj’s “Masroor” is his 5th rap record this year. Besides “HIIR”, the emcee releases a slew of solo records including “Bevda (Freestyle)”, “VN4 (Gati)” and “Bombay Coast”. Notably, this is the sophomore collaborative effort between Yashraj and Katoptris. The two artists linked up on “DLL” over two years ago.
“Masroor” is slated to release on June 30th, 2023 and receives further production assistance from Delhi’s Bharg Kale – the hard-hitting record producer and pop singer behind Rawal’s sprawling Indian rap debut “Sab Chahiye”. The hard-hitting rap LP featured guest verses from Seedhe Maut‘s Calm & Encore ABJ, MC Kode, Raga & More.
As for Yashraj, the marquee rapper and record producer dropped his fiery guest verse on “Savera” – the 8th rap record on Yungsta’s debut rap album “Meen”.
