Global Hip-Hop superstar Drake, born Aubrey Drake Graham, has finally begun the highly anticipated “It’s All A Blur” tour. Performing the tour’s first show in Chicago alongside 21 Savage, Champagne Papi remembered the late Men’s fashion mogul and former Creative Director of Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh.
The rapper, who is gearing up for his 8th studio album “For All The Dogs”, was a close associate of Abloh and paid his tributes to the iconic “Off-White” founder via a massive statue at Chicago’s United Center. Notably, Drake’s massive 56-date tour arrives after over five years.
While introducing the giant statue in Abloh’s own city, Drake remembered “one of the greatest minds that we’ve ever seen.”
“Please make some noise for one of the most important people I’ve met in this industry,” the rapper, who recently dropped a guest verse on Young Thug’s third LP “Business is Business”, said during the historic concert. “Make some noise for one of the greatest minds that we’ve ever seen.”
“Our brother, our family, he goes by the name of Virgil Abloh. Let’s pay some respect.”

The concert witnessed Champagne performing some of his most influential rap records including “Look What You’ve Done”, “Marvin’s Room”, “Headlines”, “The Motto”, “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk, “Sicko Mode”, “Calling My Name”, “Massive”, “Sticky” and the recently dropped single “Search & Rescue”.
Along with 21 Savage. Drake performed his sprawling hit with Metro Boomin “Knife Talk”, “Jimmy Cooks”, “Rich Flex” and “Spin Bout U”. Further, 21 performed “Peaches & Eggplants” too from Yung Nudy’s “Gumbo” LP.
Drizzy ended the set with the PARTYNEXTDOOR-produced record “Legend” which first featured on the OVO affiliate’s iconic commercial mixtape “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late”.
While Drake didn’t bring out any Hip-Hop superstars at his first concert in five years, the hard-hitting emcee took flagrant shots at Childish Gambino.
Amidst his live set, Drake ran a visual near the performing area which read “The overrated and over-awarded hit song “This is America” was originally a Drake diss record.”
This is the first time that Drake has responded to Gambino’s comments about his 2018 rap record “This is America”. During an interview with GQ, Gambino, who is oftentimes referred to as Donald Glover, revealed that “This is America” was supposed to be a “Drake diss”.
“To be completely honest, ‘This is America’ [the lyric] – that was all we had was that line. It started as a Drake diss, to be honest, as like a funny way of doing it. But then I was like, this shit sounds kind of hard though. So I was like, let me play with it.”
