Houston’s legendary rapper, record producer and songwriter Travis Scott, born Jacques Bermon Webster II, has finally released his fourth rap album “Utopia”. The historic rap record, which is Scott’s first in five years, arrives after perhaps the most notorious and influential album rollout in Hip-Hop history.
The 19-track LP clocks in at an hour and 14 minutes and features guest appearances from some of the finest artists of our times. Beyoncé appears on “Delresto (Echoes)”, “FE!N” features Playboi Carti & Scott’s Cactus Jack affiliate Sheck Wes, “Meltdown” features Drake, “Lost Forever” features vocals flagrant by Westside Gunn & James Blake, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Sampha appear on “My Eyes” and “Looove” features Louis Vuitton’s rap royalties Pharrell Williams & Kid Cudi.
Further, La Flame recruits The Weeknd and Bad Bunny on “K-Pop” and various other artists – Teezo Touchdown, 21 Savage, Sampha, Swae Lee, Atlanta’s rap superstars Future and Young Thug and more drop incendiary verses across Scott’s follow-up to “Astroworld”.

The Rodeo relies on rap production royalties for his long-awaited album. Flame’s LP arrives amidst turbulent times for the rapper. Scott originally planned to premiere the rap record at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. However, his plans for the historic premiere, slated to go down tonight, were allegedly stalled by Egyptian authorities over “strange rituals” which might not adhere to “Egyptian and Arab customs and traditions”.
Scott’s album arrives after the tragic deaths at the “Astroworld Festival” in 2021. Organized by Scott’s ‘Cactus Jack’, the massive concert led to 8 fatal deaths and over a hundred casualties. The Houston event’s fallout led to a series of lawsuits against the hard-hitting emcee and was one of the biggest reasons behind holding back the release of “Utopia”.
Last week, Scott was finally freed after a grand Houston jury didn’t hold the rapper “criminally responsible” for the crowd crush that reportedly killed “ten people” during the concert. The victims, one of which included a 9-year-old Ezra Blount, died from compressional asphyxia after a crowd of over 50,000 began pushing towards the performing area.
While Scott pushed heavily for his concert to happen, it was “officially cancelled” by Live Nation this Wednesday citing “complex production issues”.
Scott asserted “Utopia is wherever you are” and rightly so.
