Delhi’s top-tier act Seedhe Maut & Chicago’s iconic emcee Mick Jenkins have joined forces on their debut collaborative effort. Titled “Bure Din”, the single is produced by rising Indian record producer Hisab and arrives amidst high anticipation for Seedhe Maut’s forthcoming live set at this year’s Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi.
Across the flagrant rap record, Seedhe Maut & Mick Jenkins reminisce about their “Bad Days” in the rap game and their unruly rise to unprecedented prominence in Indian and American music respectively.
“I was on the cusp but I really couldn’t tell
I was on the bus with a pocket full of drive
Didn’t talk too much when I had to sit still
Even keeled, if they mentioned my walk
Couldn’t expire but the pressure would mold
It would inspire all the questions I fought
Like why the bad prosper and why the good fold?
Or why the bill folds never fill up our pot?
Wasn’t blindfolded, they knew that we can see
Nicodemus, I question everything I was taught
All my dreams, they would seem outta reach,” Jenkins raps on the fiery single.
For the “Casa Lopez” rapper, the single marks his fifth collaboration since releasing his hard-hitting Deluxe LP “The Patience” this year. The project features guest verses by Freddie Gibbs, Benny The Butcher, Vic Mensa and JID.
