Indian rap pioneer and Nas‘ coveted protégé Divine has released a massive new single. Titled “Triple OG”, or “000 OG”, the flagrant Bombay street classic is produced by revered record producer Phenom “The Don” and marks his first solo rap record this year.
Across the top-tier track, the iconic “Street Dreams” veteran reminisces about his earliest struggles and flexes his top-tier stature in South Asian rap music.
While Divine dismisses naive criticism and a “foul industry” on the track, the Gully Gang provocateur further pays homage to “his brother” and late Punjabi emcee Sidhu Moose Wala and former G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T on a lethal second verse.
Check out the exclusive “Triple OG” artwork shared by Divine via social media. Designed by Parikshit Singh, or Sasta Acid, the artwork is reminiscent of Nas’ “King’s Disease III” LP produced by Hit-Boy.
Divine is yet to premiere a music video for his latest single.
Besides releasing “Triple OG”, the “O’ Sajna” rapper linked up with the trailblazing “Wavy” and “Sifar Safar” emcee Karan Aujla over the weekend.
The Dubai-based Punjabi artist touched down Mumbai to perform across India as part of his massive “It Was All A Dream” world tour.
In other news, Mumbai rap superstar MC Stan, born Altaf Shaikh, has announced his debut collaboration with Punjabi emcee AP Dhillon.
The flagrant “Nusta Paisa” rapper and producer, who continues to release a slew of massive singles from his forthcoming LP “Mehfeel” including the most recent “Tujhya Aaichi G—”, “Kider Manzil”, “911 Porsche” and “Meri Zindagi Rap Se Pan Deep Hai”, linked up with Dhillon amidst his massive “The Brownprint” India tour stop in Mumbai.
