Punjabi Hip-Hop superstar Karan Aujla has linked up with London-based Rap superproducer Yeah Proof on a new hard-hitting single. Titled “P.O.V.” or ‘Point of View’, the Proof-produced record arrives amidst unprecedented anticipation for Aujla’s sophomore full-length album this summer.
Notably, this is Aujla’s first record after a massive rollout of the ‘Four You’ EP. The four-track effort with Ikky concluded with Qarn Mallhi-directed visuals for ‘Yeah Naah’ and the album announcement. For Aujla’s listeners, ‘P.O.V.’ is a Punjabi rap record that no one saw coming.
With the anticipation for his album running at an all-time high, the latest track has swiftly risen to become one of Aujla’s towering hits in Indian rap music. However, this isn’t the first time that Aujla has teamed up with Proof for a top-selling rap record.
Last year, the legendary superproducer spearheaded the record production on “Game Over”, “Unreachable” feat. Ikka, “Gangsta” feat. Compton’s influential emcee YG and more on Aujla’s ‘Way Ahead’ EP.
Just ahead of releasing the rap record, Aujla expressed concerns over his alleged association with one of the key suspects in Sidhu Moose Wala‘s murder in Mansa last year. While performing at a high-profile wedding ceremony next to Sharry Maan in California, Aujla was seen next to Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi.
However, Aujla confirmed that he wasn’t “aware” of the “questionable individual” – Anmol Bishnoi, key accused in Moosa’s murder and brother of Canada-bred gangster Lawrence Bishnoi – attending the event.
“As an artist, I focus on my performance and leave the shows, I do not notice each and every person as there are many people around. I would also like to state, there were many cameras and phones constantly recording, and usually are where I am. I would never knowingly attend or associate myself with anything as such,” Aujla said at the time.
